나에게 파랑은 현실에서 조금 멀리 혹은 조금 높이 있는 어떤 지점이나 대상을 지칭하는 상징이다.

그래서 파랑은 매순간 마주치는 현실과 함께 이동하고 변한다.

갤러리(salon de h)에서 분리된 1층과 2층 공간을 연결하는 계단은 조금 더 먼 지금 여기와는 다른 곳으로 이동할 수 있는 유일한 통로이다.

파랑이라는 상징적 개념이 가시화된 사물인 실제의 계단 공간과 그 계단을 2분의 1로 축소하여 실제로 이동하게 만든 재현된 계단, 갤러리 공간을 모델로하는 사진 작업으로 구성하여 ‘파랑=먼’이라는 주제를 분석해 보았다.

문득 사람들은 ‘먼’과 ‘더 먼’ 그리고 ‘가장 먼’을 어떻게 구분 하는 걸까 하는 의문이 생겼다.

Far, Farther, Farthest

To me, blue is a symbol of some point or object that is a bit farther from or higher than reality.

Thus, blue has shifted and altered with the reality I face in every moment.

The stairway bridging the first and second floor of the gallery (Salon de H) is the sole passage to other places.

I have analyzed the theme “blue=far” with the construction of an actual stair space, a thing visualizing the symbolic concept of blue, a represented stairway reduced by half and available for actual movement, and a photographic work featuring the gallery space.

The question of how people distinguish “far,” “farther,” and “farthest” suddenly arises.
